Parent Programs

Upward Bound encourages parents to get involved with their children's education. We offer an orientation session for parents of new Upward Bound participants, and parents of continuing UB students receive information on college and financial aid options.

UC Prep

Each year, UB hosts special early admission information and counseling sessions for UC-bound juniors.

Saturday Sessions and Campus Visits to UC Davis

Join UB on the UC Davis campus for workshops on college preparation and the admissions process. Students participate in:

  • Skill building exercises such management tasks
  • Sessions may include computer exercises
  • How to prepare resumes
  • How to search for college or financial aid information
  • How to gather other resources for future success
  • They also have fun!

Summer Residential Program

This 6-week live-in program gives students in 9th through 11th grades an opportunity to earn a maximum of 10 high school elective credits. Graduating seniors can earn college units at UC Davis' Summer Session.

Field Trips

Explore the world with UB's field trips. Some regular destinations include the Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, Oregon, annual leadership conferences, and even sports events.

Financial Help

Earn a $10.00 stipend each week for a total of $60.00 during the 6-week Summer Residential Program. Program participants qualify to receive fee waivers for college applications and college preparatory exams (SAT I/SAT II and ACT).
